SUMMARY:

Programs, sets up and operates conventional, Lathe, CNC and special purpose machine tools to machine precision metallic and nonmetallic parts.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Must have formal machining education or have attended a machining/trade school
• Must be certified or have recognized formal training in machining
• Strong understanding of machining processes and equipment
• Ability to work independently and produce quality work
• Previous professional machining experience preferred
• Maintains company policies and attendance standards.
• Ensures thorough and accurate shift change over communication
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have an Associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school. Alternatively, candidates may qualify with a minimum of 5 years of machining experience acquired through a formal apprenticeship program.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is seasonally and moderately exposed to humid conditions and heat. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, the risk of electrical shock and exposure to extreme molten plastic temperature. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.
