Job Title/Position: Carpenter Assistant
Pay: $16.00 per hour + Based on Experience
Hours: 8:00 AM. to 5:00 P.M. (Hours and schedule may vary)
Job Overview:
We are in search of a carpenter helper to assist carpenters on job sites by preforming tasks like gathering materials, cleaning and holding items in place. Also help with other tasks like framing, installing trim and cutting materials.
Job Description/Responsibilities:
- Material Handling: Gather and transport materials like lumber, plywood, and other construction supplies to the work area.
- Site Preparation: Clean and prepare the work area by removing debris and setting up tools and equipment.
- Assisting with Construction: Hold materials in place while they are being fastened, secure scaffolding, and help with the installation of various components.
- Tool Management: Assist carpenters by handing them tools, making sure they have what they need, and keeping the tools in good condition.
- Following Instructions: Work under the guidance of a carpenter or project manager, understanding and carrying out tasks as instructed.
- Basic Carpentry Tasks: Perform tasks such as drilling, cutting, and sanding, and assist with the installation of doors, windows, and trim.
- Maintaining a Safe Work Environment: Follow safety protocols to ensure the work area is safe and report any hazards.
- Clean-Up: Keep the work area clean and organized by sweeping, removing waste, and properly disposing of materials.
Job Qualifications/Requirements:
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy materials, stand for extended periods, and work in various conditions.
- Basic Carpentry Skills: Familiarity with hand and power tools, basic measuring and cutting techniques.
- Ability to Follow Instructions: Understanding and executing tasks as directed by carpenters or supervisors.
- Teamwork: Working effectively with others and collaborating to complete projects.
- Safety Awareness: Understanding and adhering to safety regulations and protocols.
- Communication Skills: Being able to communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors.
