Maintenance Mechanic B

Pay: $22-29 per hour

SUMMARY: Diagnoses repairs and maintains injection molding machinery and mechanical equipment, to include robots, motors, pneumatic tools, production machines and equipment.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Detects malfunctions and discusses machine operation variations with lead mechanic to diagnose problems or repair machines.
  • Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
  • Assists with set ups on new machines, to include, molding machines, and robots.
  • Assembles, installs, and maintains hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
  • PLC Knowledge (Programmable Logistic Controllers)
  • Ability to operate machine tools, to include lathe, grinder, drill, and milling machines.
  • Ability to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs, fixtures and tools.
  • Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
  • Maintains attendance standards.
  • Adheres to safety policies.
  • Must have own tool set (Industrial Mechanic Tools)
  • Maintenance and repair of existing equipment related to department.
  • Work with other maintenance mechanics and engineering to troubleshoot repair and implement new and improved methods to assure equipment is performing at peak efficiency.
  • Responsible for reporting food safety problems to management.
  • Other duties as assigned by maintenance manager.

  • Associate's degree (A. A.) from two-year college or technical school
  • Or five years of successful maintenance experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES

  • Fork lift license

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English.
  • Ability to write routine reports in English.
  • Ability to speak effectively with company employees and supervisors in English.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and ability to calculate figures and amounts such as area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to read a tape and calipers.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to use hand tools.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing and Excel software
  • Upholds and supports organizational goals and values.
  • Take the initiative to ask for and offer help when needed.
  • Ability to work a minimum of 45 hours weekly.
  • Works weekends and holidays, as required by company maintenance priorities, machine installation schedules and plant emergencies.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Color vision; Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is loud.

In this role, you may be required to use, handle and dispose of hazardous materials such as; metal working fluids, alcohol, waste oil and other routine industrial chemicals. Safety Data Sheets are available for all materials in which you may be exposed.
